Simply put, Gratia is a mobile app designed to help users achieve an optimal state of mind through guided meditation. It explains the spiritual state of mind against the standard and goal written out in the Bible. It teaches the causes of our varying states of mind and the consequences of our choices. You simply need to follow the roadmap provided in the app to become more in tune with biblical meditation.
-
Gratia is specifically designed for the following people in mind:
Those who want to understand the fundamental reasons behind and the answer to the events unfolding in daily lives.
Those who wish to make small starts to gradually lift themselves up to their true selves following biblical principles of creation.
Those who want to share the gospel they have with someone but want help on what and how to convey it.
The Gratia app personifies the values and substance of life as revealed in the Bible. There are three main sections in the app as follows:
Today embodies the daily practice of life that restores our created image and capabilities of the Creator God.
Library houses the knowledge accumulated and the teachings imparted for over two dozen years that served to shape us into the image of God.
Journal contains the tools for you to personalize the knowledge and observe how your mood has changed over time.
To start, try investing just about three minutes a day to follow the programs found in the Today section of the app. Then, as you build up your strength, you can explore the Library section of the app and delve deeper and learn more.
-
Gratia is currently in the final phase of making. It will be offered as a mobile app which you can download from App Store or Google Play. Stay tuned for its launch this fall!
In the meantime, we would like you to check out the Basics and Glossary sections of this website and get a sense of the knowledge that Gratia is grounded on for your daily counsel and meditation in the mobile app.
-
You can use Gratia without creating an account for the first day experience in the Today section. This means you neither need to subscribe nor make payment for it.
We say “first day” experience because Today is designed to provide different content every day that helps you spiritually grow from the day of account creation. If you do not create an account, you will continue to see the first day content in Today. Most of the content in Library, Journal, and Profile will be locked.
If you want to have access to the second day content and afterwards in Today, as well as other contents in Library, Journal, and Profile, you must create an account and subscribe to Gratia+.
-
You can have access to the locked content by creating an account first and subscribing to Gratia+. This is because Gratia provides a curated program based on two dozen years of mentoring experience and we would like to make sure that we provide quality content and that users take each content seriously.
If you want to access the locked content, please follow the below steps to sign up and subscribe:
Tap on any of the locked content.
You will be led to a sign-up screen where you can follow the instructions to sign up.
Sign in and tap on any of the locked content.
You will be led to a screen where you can choose a monthly or yearly plan.
Tap TRY FREE & SUBSCRIBE button and follow the instructions.
There are also e-books in Library that are marked with a diamond sign (as opposed to a lock sign) that you have to purchase apiece to download. There are two types of e-books, teaching materials and picture books. The former is offered under the Ambassadorial section in Library, and the latter under Picturesque. The former is designed for your teaching others, although you can have it for your own learning too. We recommend that you purchase it when you are willing to teach others with what you have learned from the Gratia app, or you are serious about learning it yourself. The latter will be art works designed to provide visualized concepts or stories, and they are currently in the pipeline.
GETTING STARTED
-
Today is designed to help you build the habit of restoring your spirituality every day. To that end, we had two basic rules in mind for the structure of Today:
Today will include programs for morning, daytime, and night, i.e., three times a day.
Today will provide daily programs that help the user grow from the day of account creation.
For the first rule, this is because we learn from the Bible that those who enjoyed God’s presence in power had time to reorient themselves to God three times a day (Psalm 5:3, Psalm 23:1, Psalm 17:3, Daniel 6:10). And it is no surprise that real-life experience tells us it’s the best practice to maintain our spirituality.
For the second rule, every user will see different content based on the account creation date. For example, if you created an account on Day T, you will see Day 1 content on Day T, Day 2 content on Day T+1, and so on. For clarification, even if you don’t open the Gratia app on Day T+1 and open it on T+2, you will see Day 3 content.
So except for the first day experience which ensures that you are ready to embark on a spiritual journey, Today consists of three menus as follows:
Morning: START THE DAY is for when you start your day.
Daytime: RECHARGE AT MIDDAY is for when you take a midday break on Mondays through Saturdays; RENEW FOR THE WEEK is provided on Sundays.
Night: CALM BEFORE BED is for when you wrap up your day before going to bed.
We recommend that you start by listening to any of the 1-3 minute audios each day. This refers to DAILY EMPOWERMENT under START THE DAY, MIDDAY REFRESHER under RECHARGE AT MIDDAY, or SOUL CLEANSING under CALM BEFORE BED. If you want a sleep story for a good night’s sleep, try playing NIGHTLY NOURISHMENT under CALM BEFORE BED as you go to bed.
-
On the first day of creating an account with Gratia, you will see a format that is slightly different from other days in two major ways. First, you will have two programs instead of three, i.e., START THE DAY and CALM BEFORE BED. Second, START THE DAY will include a video entitled MEDITATION KICKSTARTER, which is the only video in the app.
But from the second day and on, you will have access to five sessions for your meditation three times a day, provided that you are subscribed to Gratia+:
Morning: START THE DAY has two sessions, THE WORD and DAILY EMPOWERMENT. We recommend that users make the habit of meeting the word of God as the first thing in the morning as soon as they wake up. So a 1-2 Bible verses, followed by a 1-3 minute prayer to receive the power from God for the day.
Daytime: RECHARGE AT MIDDAY contains one session, MIDDAY REFRESHER on Mondays through Saturdays. This is a 1-2 minute meditative prayer to give your brain a refreshing time by the Spirit.
Night: CALM BEFORE BED has two sessions, SOUL CLEANSING and NIGHTLY NOURISHMENT. This is for cleansing your soul of the disarray of the day and filling yourself with the Spirit of God. Then you will listen to a 5-10 minute story which will help you understand and grow your inner self. While we recommend that you listen to it with full concentration, you can also listen to it as a sleep story when you go to bed.
Please note that on Sundays, you will see RENEW FOR THE WEEK instead of MIDDAY REFRESHER, where we encourage you to join a church community. When you feel you are ready, begin to attend a corporate worship to receive God’s message from the pulpit and timely help from the congregation.
We would like you to simply follow the sessions every day with a goal of forming a habit of receiving the power from God intellectually, emotionally, and volitionally.
-
While Today is designed to help you build a spiritual habit every day, Library is for you to go deeper in knowledge and understanding of yourself and of the world from biblical perspectives.
Please note that you must first create an account in the Gratia app to access the content in Library. Also, most of the content in Library becomes accessible when you are subscribed to Gratia+. If you are willing to learn more and invest more of your time, set aside some time on a regular basis, such as every weekday or every week for a session in the Library. We encourage you to listen to the audio and examine the Bible verses referenced to.
Library is carefully curated in the order of how the Bible tells us we should achieve our wellness, from spiritual, to intellectual and emotional, to physical, to interpersonal, and to visionary. So we recommend that you listen to Foundational first and follow the numbering sequence. Then, proceed to Mindful to learn about how you think and feel and why. The Breathing section offers biblical guidance on proper breathing techniques. Once you have acquired foundational spiritual knowledge and learned how it operates within the human mind, you can broaden your understanding into Interpersonal dynamics in the world. As your spiritual eyes to view both yourself and the world open, your own heart will start to align with God’s desire. At this point, you can turn to the Visionary section to learn about the steps you must take to transform yourself and change the world. Finally, the Scriptural section serves to guide you in discovering and validating all these things within the passages of the Bible.
Ambassadorial and Picturesque offer e-books that serve as learning or teaching materials. You can purchase an e-book by the piece only if you are subscribed to Gratia+. Please note that you cannot export or screenshot the e-book content in the app.
In short, Library is designed to progressively broaden both the perspective for understanding fundamental principles and the capacity to put them into action.
-
There are eight subsections under Library. When you create an account in the Gratia app and subscribe to Gratia+, you will have immediate access to all the content in Foundational, Mindful, Breathing, Interpersonal, Visionary, and Scriptural. Ambassadorial and Picturesque offer e-books that are available for purchase when you are subscribed to Gratia+ in the Gratia app.
Foundational: This section is designed to teach you basic principles of the Bible that helps you have a spiritual knowledge about human spirit, human mind, and human life.
Mindful: Once you are familiarized with the basic concepts expounded on in Foundational, we encourage you to move on to Mindful to deepen your understanding about how the spiritual realm affects your intellect, emotions, and will.
Breathing: This section teaches what breath prayer entails from a biblical perspective, and guides through the basics of diaphragmatic breathing. It is worth listening to if you wish to gain a proper biblical understanding of the respiratory system, or if you want to make a genuine effort, both spiritually and physically, to enhance your concentration.
Interpersonal: This section is designed to help you widen your understanding of the human mind to interpersonal dynamics and acquire the ability to see the fundamental reasons and patterns of events occurring in the world.
Visionary: Then you will become like-minded as God about your life’s vision, and you will be able to understand and follow the vision God has for you, as well as the path leading to that vision.
Scriptural: This section is designed to teach basic principles and concepts about how you can find your life’s vision from the word of God, i.e., Scripture.
Ambassadorial and Picturesque are e-books that you can purchase if you are subscribed to Gratia+. Ambassadorial contains teaching materials that we encourage you to purchase to download only if you are willing to teach others or you are serious about learning it yourself. Picturesque will offer art works designed to provide visualized concepts or stories, and they are currently in the pipeline. Please note that you cannot export or screenshot the e-book content in the app.
-
Ambassadorial or Picturesque offer e-books and they are marked with a diamond sign (as opposed to a lock sign). In order to access these e-books, you must be subscribed to Gratia+ and purchase by the piece. In order to subscribe to Gratia+, you must create an account in the Gratia app. This is because Gratia wants users to learn and internalize spiritual knowledge systematically. While we try our best to provide quality content, we want our users to take each content seriously so that the coaching is meaningful and effective.
The Ambassadorial section offers teaching materials for your teaching others or for your own learning. The Picturesque section will offer art works designed to provide visualized concepts or stories, and they are currently in the pipeline. We recommend that you purchase e-books only if you are willing to teach others or you are serious about learning it yourself. Please note that you cannot export or screenshot the e-book content in the app.
-
Note in the Journal section is provided for you to have a separate space to write down any inspirations you have from using the Gratia app. Each note you create will have a 250-word limit, in order to encourage you to organize your thoughts or verbalize your feelings in a succinct way.
If you are already using Apple Notes or Google Keep for your memos, we don’t necessarily discourage you from not using them. The point is that we want you to build a habit of verbalizing your thoughts and feelings in a logical manner.
-
The Mood section lets you log once a day how you feel about God and about others. We recommend that you log it after you complete Today or you meditate on God’s word on a regular basis, and that you complete Today or you mediate on God’s word at least once a week. This is so that you can see how biblical meditation affects your feelings for God and for other people.
By God’s design, when you inherit God’s unconditional and selfless love through the word of God, you enter the state of loving God and glorifying Him. If you continue to receive His love, you will increasingly gain the ability to regulate your emotions and care for other people. Observe how you grow in love for God and others through fellowship with God, and how it affects your average emotional state over time.

There are four ways to collect stars:
Worship: When you complete all sessions in Today, you will earn 1 star. For the first day, however, you will earn one star even if you do not complete all sessions in Today, as a welcome gift.

Gift: You can gift your friends a 1-month or a 1-year pass, and you will get multiple stars.
Fellowship: When you complete RENEW FOR THE WEEK on Sunday, you will get 1 star.

It offers a survey under Spiritual Territory that helps you assess your emotional, intellectual, executional, interpersonal, and visionary dimensions of wellness against the final goal, i.e., the image of God you were created to be. Once you submit your answer, you will learn about what your answer implies so that you can strategize on your strengths and weaknesses. Your answer will also be recorded in a quantified format so that and you can track your spiritual journey.
You don’t have to fill out the survey too often, perhaps 1x a month/quarter/year. The goal is to build your muscle memory of the final goal and the lifestyle conformed to the rule of God, and check yourself how you become strengthened in every aspect of your life. Building it up as a way of life is the most natural approach, but it takes time, which is why we recommend this survey every once in a while, but on a regular basis.

ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
-
Gratia is designed to help you understand yourself from the inside out, rather than from the outside in. This is to see through yourself by biblical principles of how the spiritual world impacts the human mind and then human behaviors. This provides a holistic understanding about yourself and helps take the right action in your everyday life.
Gratia also provides audio programs for those who are willing to strengthen their mind and find their God-given vision through the Bible. The programs are structured in the order of how the Bible tells us we would restore our wellness, from spiritual, to intellectual and emotional, to physical, to interpersonal, and to visionary.
In other words, Gratia aims to go beyond merely eliminating negative symptoms in the short term, striving instead to help individuals cultivate long-term vitality. That said, we encourage you to treat each program with the mindset of attending a coaching session, in order to understand and internalize the causal relationships that occur in human minds and lives, and to cover them with the goodness of the Creator God who is your Wonderful Counselor for every step of your life.
-
Gratia is currently provided as a mobile app. You can only download it from App Store or Google Play. If the number of people requiring a desktop version increases, we will consider developing one at that time.
